We are coming to the end of our first year as the FIRST Bull Creek Men’s Golf Association! Our goal this year was to get as many members as possible, have two events per month, one weekend and one weekday tournament with one Individual metal scoring event and another “Fun” format event each month. We have ended up with 38 members and have played many great games and intend to end with two major tournaments, the Tournament of Champions (TOC) (originally scheduled to be a two-day event but have now reduced it to a single day hoping this will encourage a greater turnout) and our Club Championship. Fourteen of our thirty-eight members qualified for the TOC which will be held Sunday, November 20th.
Another important event, Annual Christmas Party Tournament, will be Monday the 12th. We will play a nine hole tournament then have lunch, sandwich, chips or fries and a drink in the Snack Bar, for all members who can attend after the tournament. We will be voting for four Board member positions. Anyone wishing to run for the Board in 2023 year will need to Contact the President, Doug Speakman. You can call and leave a voicemail or sent a text to 916-716-0805 and add your name to list of people running. More about the election later!
Our last tournament of the year will be our Club Championship, a two day event Sunday Dec 18 and Monday the 19th. We chose a Sunday/Monday two day event avoiding Saturday where there will be lots of important College Football games and going with Monday the week of Christmas hoping that any of our not retired, working members may more easily be able to get a holiday day off that week to participate. We will purchase a Club Champion Trophy with 10 brass plates to capture our Club Champion each year for the first 10 years and keep the trophy in the Bull Creek Clubhouse trophy area.
Membership renewals begin NOW through the end of this year and will be $80. New memberships will be $95. Thanks to all who have participated this year and who will be playing these finishing tournaments!
