We had our first tournament in May Sunday the 7th. This month we are allowing non-members of our MGA to play. We had 6 non-members participate. Two of them won Low Net in their flights. Don Bryan, runs the range at Bull Creek, won 1st net in the 2nd Flight and Gary Layfield, a student at a local High School playing from the Blue Tees , won first net in the third flight. Because they are NOT MGA members they only won prize money and do not qualify for the Tournament of Champions (TOC). Doug Speakman won 1st gross in the 1st flight in a scorecard playoff against Dean Wilson. Doug Speakman, Mark Moore and Bill Shelton all qualified for the TOC in October.
Next tournament will be Friday, May 26th starting time 10 AM. This will be a popular two-man format, 2 Person Better Ball. Cards will be marked with strokes where they fall. Players put their gross score on the card then select the lowest net score for their team score for each hole. Sign up sheets are in the Snack Bar at the pro Shop at Bull Creek. Please sign up as soon as possible and remember this one is open to non-members as well. If you have a friend that you think might want to join or who is on the fence about joining you might consider playing with them.
